Even deeper in the crisis? Whilst in Honolulu? Easier said than done? Think about it. What would be the average reason for companies to help you out of your financial trouble? The guarantee of eternal blessing? A picture on the frontpage of the local newspaper? A medal or scout’s honor? We guess it is just one basic thing: cash. But how about this: you pay your ‘white knight’ who you trust to solve your problems but find yourself worse off compared to you starting position.
Mr. Dimitrion and his company Mortgage Alliance in Honolulu advertised heavily and offered to help homeowners facing foreclosure to renegotiate their debt. He applied for $1.3 million in loans for “straw buyers” to purchase the homes and then rent them back to the former owners. But Dimitrion stole the proceeds and placed the money in fake escrow accounts, prosecutors said. So: deeper in the crisis but still in Honululu. People affected will not like the message but you there are probably worse places to go through the crisis than Honolulu.
